The Taranaki Applied Innovation Centre offers a range of STEM initiatives aimed at supporting curriculum delivery and building awareness of career pathways for a thriving Taranaki. We provide in-class outreach, connections with local and national experts, and presentations on the exciting careers that await students pursuing STEM fields.
Delivered by an expert educator, our outreach sessions connect the science curriculum to real Taranaki examples. Our programmes include:
Microbe Machines: Learn about the exciting world of biotechnology, where people use the machinery of nature to create products we use every day. Your students will build their own bioreactors and learn about the incredible natural products found all around us.
Energise!: As the Energy Province, Taranaki knows a lot about energy. Your students can learn about how we harness different energy sources to power our lives, and what we're doing to create a sustainable future.
Geology Rocks: The stones of Taranaki have a story to tell, from the top of the Maunga to the bottom of the ocean. Your students will learn about the rock cycle, and how it has shaped the history of Taranaki.
We support teachers wanting to cover any STEM field. Get in touch to learn more.
